#देवशयनी_एकादशी (हरिशयनी एकादशी):
Ekadashi of Ashadh Shukla Paksha is called Devshayani Ekadashi. It is also called Harishayani Ekadashi. Two Ekadashi falls in the month of Aashaadh. One in Shukla Paksha and the other in Krishna Paksha.
Lord Vishnu is the follower of nature and by his grace the creation is going on. Therefore, when Srihari enters Yoganidra for four months, no auspicious work is done during that time. Chaturmas also starts from this time. At this time there is no mangical or material work, but there is austerity. Hence it is also called Chaturmas. It is considered a very auspicious month.
For four months after Devshayani Ekadashi, the Sun, Moon and Tejas elements of nature are reduced. That is why it is said that the Devasayana has taken place. The results of actions done on the weakening of auspicious powers are also not auspicious. No auspicious work should be done during Chaturmas.
