After the temple map was passed, the L&T company started excavating the foundation.
Casting work of first pillar on Ram Janmabhoomi starts, after tightening the test of strength rest 1,199 pillars will be made.
The first test pillar excavation in Ayodhya started on Friday. During this, trustees of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra were also present.
The work of excavating the first pillar on the sanctum sanctorum has been started for the foundation of the temple.
Earlier machines were worshiped.
The construction started on Friday is called test piling. This pillar will be ready in 24 hours.
Experts will then tighten it to the test of strength. It is expected to take a month. After everything is found OK then the excavation work of rest 1,199 other pillars will start from October 15.
The test pillar is being built 100 feet deep and one meter in diameter. The temple will be built on 1200 pillars.
Two ring machines are used for excavation, while more machines will come.
Efforts are being made to make the foundation so strong that it will last for 1500 years.
Apart from IIT Chennai, this work is being monitored by experts from a few selected institutions of the country.
161 feet high temple will be built on a platform about 15 feet.
According to Nikhil Sompura, the son of Somapura, the chief architect who designed the Ram temple, the temple has 70 acres of land. But, the temple will be built in 3 acres only.
The temple complex will be expanded on the remaining 65 acres of land. One lakh Ram devotees will be able to reach the temple in a day. The model of the temple has been changed.
